Frequently Asked Questions of the IGA Member Play Days IGA Member Play Days are another great benefit to all members of the Iowa Golf Association! Below are few of the most popular questions the IGA has received about these events and the appropriate responses. Call 888-388-4442 or email jason@iowagolf.org with any additional or follow-up questions. We hope to see you on the course soon! What are IGA Member Play Days? IGA Member Play Days are one day events open exclusively to IGA members. The basic principle is to reserve a block of tee times at one of the best courses in the state to allow IGA Members to put together their own playing groups, no formal competition, play from the first tee and have fun. These are usually held at private clubs, places you might not otherwise get a chance to play.
Who is eligible to play in Member Play Days? All individual members of the IGA are eligible. Men, women and juniors all are welcome.
I think I’m an IGA member but how do I know for sure? Please define IGA membership? An individual member of the IGA has an active seven-digit GHIN number issued from an IGA member club.
I’m not a member but want to be, how do I join? Visit a member club of the IGA and tell them you would like to be a member of the IGA. A complete Member Club Directory is located at www.iowagolf.org
The staff will enroll you on the GHIN Handicap Roster and you will receive a seven-digit GHIN number to which you will post your scores for Handicap purposes. Your membership will be active once the staff performs a transmission of records on their GHIN Handicap Software. You will then be able to post scores at any club using the GHIN service or online at www.iowagolf.org
Is there a competition element to these days? No, there is no formal competition although from time to time the staff may choose to run an optional skins game for anyone interested. Otherwise all "competition" is between you and your group.
What if I am a single, or don't have a group of four? That is fine, we still want you to play. We will simply pair up anyone who doesn't have a complete group with others "in the same boat".
Can I choose the pairing group in which I play? Absolutely! Pairing requests are encouraged and we make every attempt to honor them. You can either fill out the "comment/request" field on the online entry form or send an email to jason@iowagolf.org before the entry deadline.
How can I submit an entry? Entry into a Member Play Day is handled like every other event conducted by the IGA. You can click here and sign up with a credit card or call the office at (888) 388-4442. The entry fees vary based on the host club. The IGA makes every attempt to negotiate a fee that is attractive and valuable to both the individual IGA Member and the host IGA Member Club. What is included in the entry fee? Each entry fee includes range balls (if host site has practice facility), lunch, 18 holes of golf and a cart. In most cases golfers make walk if they wish but the fee is still the same.
I’ve submitted an entry, when do I see my grouping and starting time? All info for the event is published the day after the entry deadline. If you provide an email address with your entry you will receive a Starters List and any other information for the event in your inbox. This info is posted at www.igamembersnettour.org and www.iowagolf.org as well.
What is the withdrawl and refund policy? Entry fees will be refunded if the IGA Office is notified on or before the entry deadline of an event. After the deadline, fees will be refunded on in event of injury or illness. There is a $10 service charge on all refunds.
